This is a worthy subject for an encyclopedia. It just needs a lot of work. This page began as a cut-and-paste of the "About Us" section of The Climate Project's website. In that form it was all written from a very autobiographical/first person plural standpoint. As such it assumed too much about its own relevance an importance (it made little effort to place itself in context or to document its own notability, and, desipte having existed for an hour, did not appear to be evolving more encyclopedically. In good faith, I reverted my own request for speedy delection, and I've tried to trim back that POV and just focus on what it is and what it does. Remaining issues as of this date:

  • Shouldn't it be The Climate Project? Proper names are capitalized, yes?
  • Not balanced (there's an implicit thread throughout that all its activities are good and worthwhile, which is fine for an "About Us" section but not for an encyclopedia entry). This should either be trimmed further or balanced with other voices.
  • One source (Even if they were universally loved, we should still worry that all we know about them so far comes from their website)
  • Uncategorized and unlinked. Should be related to more climate change articles ("climate crisis" is probably too polemical)

I am not convinced that this article is notable, but I am going to refrain from retagging it at this time seeing that it is still a work in progress. I have removed the "hangon" template from the article so that it will no longer show up on WP:CSD. I have added this to my watchlist and I will be checking back on it in a couple days. Good luck with the article. Trusilver 04:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC) reply

Merging this article into Climate Reality Project

Hi there! This article and Talk page are very quiet, so I'd be surprised if its on anyone's watchlist, but on the off chance that someone is watching this page I'd like to ask you to participate in a discussion I've started on the Talk page for the Climate Reality Project.

I am proposing a revision for that article and, as part of this revision, have suggested merging this article, The Climate Project, into the article for The Climate Reality Project. You may know that The Climate Project no longer exists as a separate organization, having become part of The Climate Reality Project in 2011. For this reason retaining this standalone article is confusing and a perhaps unnecessary. Additionally, this article is flagged with several tags indicating that it does not meet Wikipedia's standards. As part of the draft for The Climate Reality Project, I've included a summary of The Climate Project's foundation and activities, based on careful research.

I would like to clearly state that I am working toward these changes on behalf of The Climate Reality Project, for whom I am a consultant. Because of my COI with the topic I will not make any changes to articles related to the organization, but ask that other editors review what I have prepared and make the edits once consensus has been reached.

If you would like to review my suggested revision for the Climate Reality Project article, or have thoughts on merging this article into that article, please see my message on the Climate Reality Project Talk page here. I think it will be easiest if we keep all discussion about these changes in one place for other editors to see. Thanks, 16912 Rhiannon ( Talk · COI) 21:28, 11 September 2013 (UTC) reply

Merge and redirect

There's been no opposition to the notion that the contents of this article be merged into The Climate Reality Project. A new draft of that article has been completed. The intent of the drafter was to reflect the history of the organization, including this organizations part. I haven't check word for word to make sure every key aspect of this article is not in the new article, but as that was the intent of the drafter, I'm going ahead and redirecting this article title to the new article. Should there be anything left in this article that belongs in the new article, it can, of course, be brought over, although discussion would be nice.-- SPhilbrick (Talk) 14:12, 19 October 2013 (UTC) reply
