I thought the first episode was entitled: "The Man with the Golden Shoes" which made reference to a Celtic burial site found in Switzerland (?).

Distinguish from later series
There is a distinct six-part series narrated by John Morgan, produced by Opus Television for S4C International, and copyright 2000 (
IMDb entry dated 2001). This later series shares an episode title ("Heroes in Defeat") with the 1987 BBC series, and has been (
at least in some cases) mistakenly identified as the BBC production. Should this page explicitly disambiguate in a hatnote, or similar? —
