It seems plausible to me that DS 'led' the premiere from the piano, but the closest a casual internet browsing gets me to a reliable source is a review in The Slavic and East European Journal, Vol. 54, No. 2 (SUMMER 2010), pp. 397-398 of Sofia Moshevich's Dmitri Shostakovich, Pianist (2004), which is only suggestive.
