I have tried researching and failed to find the rationale for the calculation. This article would benefit from (eg) a naval architect's expert commentary

I removed the following ref, beause it points to a copy of a Wikipedia article, and we can't cite ourselves as a source:

This Ref provides historical bacground on the Yacht Rule, and later evolution.

Please see File:Screen shot of Thames Measurement page.png, which shows the probem. I have just reverted to 'get rid' of the problem. The syntax is beyond my skill and the editor who introduced the error by accident cannot see it on their machine. Fiddle Faddle 14:19, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
