As the candidate for the same party as the existing MP in a safe conservative constituency then Therese Coffey is highly likely to become an MP in the 2010 election and so is notable. 217.42.57.85 ( talk) 12:21, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
This is insufficient under WP:Politician AlecStewart ( talk) 18:24, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I disagree on the basis of the exception allowed under WP:Politician section 3:
...although such people can still be notable if they meet the primary notability criterion of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article."
Since "significant" is a subjective term, i thought the deletion should be undone awaiting further discussion. Further to this: regarding the point from 217.42.57.85, even if the candidate does not become an MP, she has gained notability by her many attempts at getting elected in various locations around the UK (spread over 6 years so not a recent news story). Sincerely, Matthewcgirling ( talk) 23:10, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I propose this article should be renamed Thérèse Coffey to reflect the correct spelling of her name, and adding a redirect from Therese Coffey. 31.55.65.236 ( talk) 15:50, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
