The reference shows just a description of Issa. Is Issa her birthplace? The mentione of here name in relation with Issa is only at the moment that she met roman envoys while she was besieging Issa [1] [2]. All the sources refere to her as simple Queen Teuta Aigest ( talk) 13:38, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

I Serbiakos want to edit this page. Everything will be the same as it was but now it will be more informative and updated and with more detail. Check my other pages I edited. e.g: Gentius, Bardyllis, Glaukias, Monunius of Dardania etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Serbiakos ( talk • contribs) 12:04, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
I've just reverted to version 430763610 dated 25 May 2011 having taken advice from the copyvio experts. That version was GA. New material was introduced on 5 June 2011 and survived a minor edit war. It contains at least some copy-paste from Wilkes. I can't find out how much, as Wilkes is no-preview on the net, but some, and the account that introduced the copyvio is an indef-blocked sock of an account that is also indef-blocked -- for copyvio. I apologise to editors whose good work may have been overridden by this action, but it seemed the only clear way to get rid of copyvio. -- Stfg ( talk) 16:37, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
Was Teuta directly involved in the piracy, or was she merely waging it from a distance? Asarelah ( talk) 16:31, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: Move. The histmerge has already been completed. Cúchullain t/ c 14:11, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
Teuta of Illyria →
Teuta – The most appropriate article name would be simply Teuta, as per common name. "Teuta of Illyria" is very scarcely used in sources. She was never the ruler of Illyria (and never titled as such). In reality, she ruled parts of Illyria, and was the queen of the Ardiaei. Gbooks hits (-llc -wiki): "Teuta of Illyria"-51, "Teuta, queen"-322, "Queen Teuta"-397.

The original text of the article was this: “she acted as regent for her young stepson Pinnes with the royal seat in Rhizon<ref>{{harvnb|Wilkes|1995|p=177}}.</ref> (in the Gulf of Kotor, modern Montenegro).”
Wilkes on page 177 does not tell anything like this. He instead says: “the otherwise unknown ’Ballaios’ or ’king Ballaios’, who appear to have ruled after 168 BC at Queen Teuta's old stronghold Rhizon (Risan).” Rhizon was indeed one of the many strongholds of Teuta (and probably that of Agron, too) which otherwise was the main base of the Illyrian fleet, and this was the place where Teuta retreated in 229BC (see also Wilkes, p. 161.). But noone says nowhere that it was the seat of the kingdom. There are much discussions going on, whether Lissus or Scodra (sometimes Medeon also included) was the seat of the Illyrian kingdom (if there was a single one), but Rhizon has never been addressed as a candidate for the Illyrian capital.
I therefore removed this place and added the page number on which Wilkes in fact talks about “she acted as regent for her young stepson Pinnes” Pasztilla ( talk) 19:30, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
I have flagged 19th-century sources as per WP:AGE MATTERS. I'll help you replace them with more reliable sources. There is no factual error in the article, but sources from this period are mostly useless since they are just repeating what the ancient authors were writing, with no knowledge of recent discoveries (not their fault) and no textual criticism (such as telling the Gallic Wars from Caesar's point of view as if modern historians were telling the Iraq War from George W. Bush's point of view). As far as I know, Strickland & Strickland were not historians so they are definitely not a reliable source. Again, I'll help you with the references, I've added Derow for the intro and a short text from Elsie. Azerty82 ( talk) 01:01, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
