The left hand turn and the 'nineth townhouse'.
Why is the left hand turn even in this article? 159.134.228.71 21:22, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
I think that the method of extrapolating the population of Terenure from the 2002 CSO figures is flawed, in that the boundaries of a suburb such as Terenure cannot be said to be described by the DEDs including the name of the suburb. See my talk page and that of Bastique for our discussion on the topic.
I'm removing the figure from the infobox, but I welcome comments on this matter. -- Ryano 12:25, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
This no longer makes sense since the reference to Dublin 4 was deleted. In fact it suggests that Dublin 6W ought to be a lower-class suburb.

I went to secondary school in Dubln 4, always lived in Terenure (D6w) no difference to me but seriously whats the big deal with Dublin 4 (d4) ?? making egos bigger is the only valid (to them) reason that i can see. -- 79.97.93.6 13:33, 06 August 2008 (UTC)
>> It is located north of Harold's Cross and south of Rathfarnham.
Eh, no! Going south from the River Liffey you pass through Harold's Cross, then Terenure, then Rathfarnham. Therefore Terenure is south of Harold's Cross and north of Rathfarnham. Scolaire 20:29, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
As a long-term resident of Terenure, I'd really like somebody to explain to me:
Who was 'drinker Thomas Barry'?
Where is 'the west bank of the town'?
What was the '10 Penny Bag War' and how are we supposed to 'see' it when there is no such article?
Is Terenure College really called 'The Gick' and why have i never heard that before (I'm a Mary's man myself)?
Scolaire 21:26, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Austin Clarke is not from Terenure, he is most definitely from Templeogue.-- Bella vista 09:56, 1 December 2006 (UTC) Please remove Austin Clarkes name from this. He lived adjacent to Templeogue Bridge. He lived his adult life in Templeogue and i believe he grew up in the city, although i am not fully sure of this. Bella vista 16:18, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
I have removed it now Bella vista 10:27, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Is that bit in the sport section not kinda vandalism? Seems inappropriate for an encyclopedia? Backbeatlistener ( talk) 01:15, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Any old Dublin rugby can explain the origin of the nickname. I heard from a Blackrock old boy who played at 'Nure in teh early 1960's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.223.203.4 ( talk) 10:01, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
This paragraph has been repeatedly added over a period of years without any attempt to show notability. I have googled mannering "new york" and there is no prominent Mannering family in that city. I have also looked at the Mannering family of Terenure in the 1911 census and the head of household was a car driver, not an estate agent. The 30 September 2009 edition of Southside People is on-line here. The article on Terenure is quite obviously taken from this Wikipedia article, including the Mannering paragraph. I am asking the person who is adding the paragraph to please stop. Scolaire ( talk) 14:47, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
I have removed the following from the article:
If a reference can be found it can be added back, but I have to say that it looks like some rugby (not Terenure) fan having a laugh. Scolaire ( talk) 06:29, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Gick is slang for shit. A verifiable citation would be required to include this information to show that the nickname is real, widespread, and persistent and not a passing fad among a handful of impish schoolboys for a month or two. Even if a citation was discovered, it is trivia anyway so is not notable. — O'Dea ( talk) 00:32, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

The following "Gick" is slang for excrement should be changed to "Gick" is rhyming slang for Manure ie. Terenure Drapac ( talk) 13:35, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
Just wondering whether somebody could add something about how Terenure used to be called Roundtown. When was it changed, why? Is Terenure an older historical name or was it plucked from nowhere in the 19th century? Seems odd that it hasn't been mentioned at all in the article.
I don't know much about this at all, and will change it myself when I find out more information (but this could happen in a while or never). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Achasanai ( talk • contribs) 20:48, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
