In my opinion it is a very bad example of the genre. It is very similar to electro house and could be argued that it is better suited to that genre. I feel like the examples should be very clear cut. 216.104.123.107 ( talk) 06:08, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
"Though not official, it is presumed that pumping house actually served as precursor to the now underground bassline genre that appeared in the UK around the time pumping went scarce."
Erm... I can't imagine Italian DJ Benny Benassi started the Sheffield Bassline_(dance_music) scene. Alex Stacey ( talk) 17:15, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
Just curious: what separates micro-house and tech-house? I've read both articles, but I can't find a clear defining point between the two subgenres.

I know well that nothing is more subjectively biased than sub genre definitions, but for me the featured music demo is clearly progressive house, which is even more funny because it is defined in the very beginning of the article! As it is stated there, progressive house borrows from trance, as I would say: it exposes the artificialty of techno in an alleviated style, whereas tech house, as I see it, tries to avoid the arbitrarity of those bland progressive sounds (sorry for the surge of emotion) and tries to put back some groove, sexyness and rawness into their tracks. To know what I am talking about, one defining example for Tech House as I see it would be Justin Maxwell's "The Tussincussion" featured on the Digitized Sound EP on Palette. Sorry, but I just listened to Justin Maxwell's "The Tussincussion" and that is way more minimal, in the spectrum of techno, than it is tech house as you claim it to be. Listen to Subsky and Nacho Marco. This is what tech house is.

Progressive House does not 'borrow from Trance', it came before Trance, therefore how can it 'borrow'. I think your mixing yourself up with the style "Trance House" (Trouce). Danceking5 ( talk) 01:11, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
The Justin Bailey link goes to Metroid, the video game. Is there a page for the musician? Skylerdray ( talk) 13:11, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
Certain early techno songs, such as Strings of Life, are described as both techno and house. Does this mean they count as tech house; if not, could it be made clearer why they don’t? ZFT ( talk) 21:46, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
Specifically the more vague/subjective terms like “steely” and “dark”. “Steely” as in the quality of sound you would get if you struck a steel object? ZFT ( talk) 05:43, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
