There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:South Indian diaspora which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. — RMCD bot 16:18, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: Moved. This is a confusing situation. I'm still not clear what is intended between this and the article currently at South Indian diaspora. However, this article does seem to focus on Tamil Nadu, and no objections, so this move can go ahead. — Amakuru ( talk) 11:42, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
Indian Tamil diaspora →
Tamil Nadu diaspora – I would like to propose to change this page name to Tamil Nadu diaspora as it more specifically deal with Tamil Nadu diaspora rather than Indian Tamil diaspora. Term Indian Tamil not just refers to Tamil people of India but also Tamil people living in Sri Lanka (Indian Tamils), Malaysia (Malaysian Indian) and Singapore(Indian Singaporean). It confuses the readers whether it is just Tamil people of India or else. Also, there is word as such as Indian Tamil used for Tamil people living in India, because Tamils itself refers mostly people coming from Tamil Nadu, it is some what equates with English refers to someone from England, no one says British English people or British English diaspora. Likewise, we can't say Indian Tamil, either it should be merged with Tamil diaspora main article or just change the name to Tamil Nadu diaspora, because 99% of Tamil speakers living in India are descent from Tamil Nadu, almost 90% of Tamils in India living just in Tamil Nadu alone.
