The result of the proposal was moved to Cemil Bey. -- BDD ( talk) 17:44, 21 February 2013 (UTC) ( non-admin closure)
– per WP:COMMONNAME:
An user had changed the title without discussion. Even the Turkish Language Association changed its orthography ( tanbur was changed to tambur), Proper nouns must not be changed. Tanburi Cemil Bey is a proper noun and common name in English language. Tanburi Cemil Bey died in 1916 and in the Ottoman language, طنبورى (Tanburi, Tanbûrî) was common use.
Cf. In Arabic.

The result of the move request was: not moved. Discussion did not result in a consensus that moving would be preferable. ( non-admin closure) ModernDayTrilobite ( talk • contribs) 19:51, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
Cemil Bey → Tanburi Cemil Bey – Per WP:COMMONNAME and "Cemil Bey" is a very common name for people, making the current title problematic. There is Mehmed Cemil Bey, Mesut Cemil (which entering "Cemil Bey" also returns on the Internet), and so on. Cemil Bey simply applies to any Ottoman personality named Cemil. People will also scratch their head for just "Cemil Bey," and I have not encountered a single source that calls "Tanburi Cemil Bey" just "Cemil Bey."
