At this time, this song does not assert notability. As it stands, its an album track that had one week of chart action due to digital sales on the week Animal was released. There is no video, no other claims of notability per WP:SONGS, and no confirmation that this will be released as the third or fourth single. Until such information is announced and properly sourced via WP:RS, this article should remain a redirect. Continued re-creation before any official announcement has been made will lead to full protection and/or a nomination at WP:AfD. - eo ( talk) 19:15, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
The aricle should not be redirected. It was announced that it would be released as the fourth single. The album article provides very little info on the song. And the song is notable because it sold 394,000 copies and has remained in the 100 list on the itunes charts.--☺♪Ane§leyP♫☻ 01:51, 25 June 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anesleyp ( talk • contribs)
Well can the article at least stay as-is and still be displayed on the "other songs" place on Kesha's template?-- ☺♪Ane§leyP♫☻ ( talk) 03:03, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
I don't know how to put it on here, but there is a single cover here http://www.aolradioblog.com/2010/06/15/kesha-take-it-off/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.43.19.251 ( talk) 17:50, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Has anyone else noticed that this track has a very similar melody to a traditional middle eastern song? I can't name it, but it's almost identical in parts. It also seems to borrow heavily from "Can You Feel It" by The Jacksons in one particular section. 220.236.81.177 ( talk) 11:43, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
"The Streets of Cairo" or "Colin Prend Sa Hotte" or "Kradoutja" might be what you're remembering. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Streets_of_Cairo,_or_the_Poor_Little_Country_Maid
This should definitely get a mention. The article currently strongly suggests that the song is entirely original work, whereas it is clearly 'inspired' by this melody. Dare I say it, but the lyrics are also very similar to some of the 'alternative' lyrics to that tune that was sung in the playground when I was at school, something similar to Variant 3 here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Streets_of_Cairo,_or_the_Poor_Little_Country_Maid#Lyrics
There's a place in France, where the naked ladies dance, with their long blond hair and their boobies in the air, there's a hole in the wall ... etc, two of the lines are virtually copied word for word. -- DForster 84.43.92.222 ( talk) 01:10, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

I've Removed it; "- 20 September, 2010 (From Animal) [Radio] (Format: Digital Promo, Physical Promo)" yet its not available on Itunes, Amazon, Music Plus, Or any other music website. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 18:36, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Is it really necessary to mention the beats per minute or the key? Are they notable for some reason? Kaiguy ( talk) 07:06, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
I will direct you to 4_Minutes_(Madonna_song)#Composition. I can literally list you 500 GA and FA's that include BPM and similar things. Why does this matter to you so much? - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 20:45, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
It doesn't particularly matter to me - it's something of a pet peeve when I see song articles with the beats per minute (this is not the first) as if that were an intentional part of the composition. I just don't think that it's notable. I don't think it adds anything to the article. I don't think anyone who reads this page will have their understanding of the song enriched by this information. So I came to the discussion page and asked if it was important. So, I don't think it's notable, and think it should be deleted, you think it is notable, and shouldn't. I'm willing to leave the status quo at this point, and not remove the information. Kaiguy ( talk) 00:19, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

I have tried twice to add "Electro-House" to the genre list. I don't see why this counts as "disruptive editting". The song's use of a 4/4 rhythm and deep bass compressions make it very similiar to electro-house. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BASS RABBT ( talk • contribs) 03:32, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
I added an image from the performance of "Take It Off" from the tour. I remember that she did that whole pose while performing the song, and this video can also be watched for confirmation (7:00 onwards). Pancake ( talk) 19:04, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
The song is inspired by the melody "The Streets of Cairo, or the Poor Little Country Maid", also known as "The snake charmer song", is used in the Mickey Mouse's short "Magician Mickey" (1937) WalterWhite-- 79.9.91.220 ( talk) 15:50, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
