![]() | On 1 May 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved from Taiz campaign to Siege of Taiz. The result of the discussion was moved. |
The section about the 24 November 2015 fighting in the battle was recently removed at least twice (see the history of the article). The reason was not specified. The article now ends with a description of the 16 August 2015 fighting (three months old). 89.173.227.64 ( talk) 10:28, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
Since there were no edit summaries which would at least briefly describe the reasons for the removal, I added it again. Hopefully this doesn´t get deleted at once without explanation again. -- 89.173.227.64 ( talk) 18:31, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
PressTV is an Iranian news agency. It routinely publishes false information relating on opposing side (president Hadi and Saudi-led Arab Coalition) to the conflict in Yemen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.125.71.34 ( talk) 21:56, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

Moved. While the present title, "Battle of Taiz", applied well when this article was created, the general agreement below that a rename is needed appears to be in line with progressive changes since then. While "offensive" can mean more than one "battle", this has been fairly ongoing since 2015, so there have been planned offensives (plural) over the period "2015–present". The proposed title then needs only a small tweak to Taiz offensives (2015–present). Have a Great Day and Happy Publishing! ( nac by page mover) Paine Ellsworth put'r there 18:27, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

@ SmokeyJoe: okay, but we could also create articles about main offensives, no? -- Panam2014 ( talk) 03:25, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

Taiz campaign → Siege of Taiz (2015–present) – I have seen exactly one reliable source describing the fighting in Taiz as the "Taiz campaign". Conversely, the following articles describe it as a "siege":
And the following sources describe it as a battle, or both a siege and a battle:
There are more sources that describe it as a battle, and even more that describe it as a siege, but very few describing it as a campaign or anything like that. It would be appropriate to change the name to the Siege of Taiz or the Battle of Taiz or something like that, as it is clearly the common name after all Presidentofyes12 ( talk) 22:44, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
