Is the belting technique used at the tags at the end when lead or tenor singers sing the Post? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saludacymbals ( talk • contribs) 16:49, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
Belting is a legitimate singing style - not a lack of technique. It is not a part of some genres, particularly barbershop, where singing techniques, vowels etc must match for chords to ring. Please get your information correct!! Saying that it is illegitimate in ALL genres is an OPINION that is fairly narrow-minded and genre-biased statement. And yes, I sing classical, music theatre, jazz AND barbershop genres. Belt IS widely used and very legitimate in pop, music theatre and gospel genres.
