Is there somme command known doing a byte by byte reverse output? -- Itu ( talk) 15:43, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
No such command in (Free)BSD or OSX, so it should be "tac (Linux)" -- 12:36, 29 October 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.133.8.114 ( talk)
I want to join this question. I'm trying to recall, and can't, tac on any of the various Unixes I used (Research Unix, System V, SunOS and many others). Do you have any source claiming that this was ever a Unix utility? Any source about the history of this tool - was it a Gnu invention? Nyh ( talk) 11:13, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
The "tac" utility is completely irrelevant and describing it provides no encyclopedic value. Moreover, why would one alternative utility be favored over other similar alternative utilities? See also Talk:Cat (Unix) § Removal of "tac" section. -- 31.223.130.183 ( talk) 09:39, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
