In the posthumously published Volume 5 of his History of Indian Philosophy his widow writes in a biographical note that he was born in October 1885 (see online version on
Archive.org). So the given date 1887 must be wrong. -- Liz Crewtype —Preceding

Skewed discussion of family life
This article seems to have a history of editors (possibly family members) trying to delete any reference to Dasgupta's second wife or make them negative. In particular, the three edits on 7 October 2009 by
AmitavaM11 (who has no other edits) seem highly biased.
(Maybe also delete the long list of books written by Dasgupta's son, inserted on 13 October 2014 by single-edit
Cherukuri indira dasgupta.)
