Misleading original research

This is not a breed. There's only one surviving alleged specimen, and our sources tell us someone tried to establish a breed from it, and failed. This is a former landrace that is now essentially extinct.  —  SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  20:40, 6 January 2019 (UTC) reply

PS: This appears to exist as a WP:COATRACK to promote the organization TIMBA, which is non-notable.  —  SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  21:34, 6 January 2019 (UTC) reply

From what I could find, the position that Suphalak is distinct from Burmese indeed appears to come from people associated with TIMBA. But independent secondary sources have covered their breeding attempts and efforts to register the breed, at least as lately as 2022, [1] so the original research concerns can be remedied by trimming the content down to what has been published. As the article mentions, most other people in Thailand just treat the name as a synonym for Burmese, but it takes the TIMBA's position as fact so that's also an NPOV issue. -- Paul_012 ( talk) 05:40, 3 February 2024 (UTC) reply
