I have classified this as a stub. It can be expanded by referring to his military career. I have also removed something about his being the father of an actor as I could not find sources on it.

several errors from the english article, I think repeated from the origianl artcle from china post. First, Chiang deployed his best troops, the german-trained divisions one of which was led by Sun, right off the bat in 1937. Those were wasted in the Shanghai-Nanjing campaign early on in the war. Secondly, Sun wasn't responsible for the half-a-million loss in Jiangsu. That was
Du Yuming, who was the overal commander of the battle and was captured by the communists. Sun was only an army commander, subordinate to Du. Geez, these reporters better get their facts right.
