This page should be merged into the Structured_Light_3D_Scanner page. If nobody objects i will implement the merge. ALoopingIcon ( talk) 14:36, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
I also agree it should NOT be merged. While 3D scanning is a major use, structured light also has wider applications in 2D/3D position-sensing. Example is if structured light is projected onto a surface-plane (e.g. wall) then location and orientation of a roaming camera observing/imaging that wall (or a subset of it) may be determined. the Microsoft Kinect camera is an example for a structured light depth sensor not only for x-box, but also pc and other devices, that can now be found in your neighbours home. I think that this could be an example that people can relate to more easily than scanning fingerprints on a crime scene. Given the number of kinect sales it should be okay to mention this camera without advertising claims. I'll leave it up to you guys. -- Tue, 22.05.2012 09:39 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.176.181.132 ( talk) 07:39, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
