I plead ignorance...

Let it be known that almost everything I know about the subject comes from Stephen Menn's excellent article: Stephen Menn, "The Stoic Theory of Categories," in Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy: Volume XVII: 1999, (Oxford, Oxford University Press) ISBN  0-19-825019-3, pp.215-47. As for anything else... I probably have it all wrong. -- Sophroniscus 21:21, 27 September 2007 (UTC) reply

I added a basic summary of the Categories (maybe too basic, I'm not sure), to complement your excellent background material. I did though remove the final Augustine quote - it seemed a bit out-of-place to me in a technical discussion of philosophical Categories. Singinglemon ( talk) 21:34, 20 January 2008 (UTC) reply
