The Ukrainian on-line site risu.or.ua spells his name Stepan Chmil, at least in this article PATRIARCH SVIATOSLAV: NEWLY ELECTED POPE KNOWS UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, ITS LITURGY AND SPIRITUALITY I realize that for the last name at least this is the difference between a Polish spelling and a Ukrainian transliteration (sure is hard for Polish speakers who also speak English to know how to pronounce that "ch"). Is there a reason to prefer the Polish spelling here in English, and to entirely omit alternate English spelling? -- Richardson mcphillips ( talk) 00:41, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
"There the young Jorge Mario Bergoglio, later to become Pope Francis, rose early to serve Mass for him.The local political authorities were not willing or ready to accept a different religious rite to the Roman Catholicism of Argentina."
Normally I would think "Mass" is a mistake for "Divine Liturgy", but this text makes it a bit ambiguous. Was he in fact stopped from celebrating in the Ukrainian rite? Or did the "local political authorities" give in? -- Richardson mcphillips ( talk) 00:49, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
