I'm not really sure how the subject of this page relates to the test statistic. It seems to me that there is a sufficiently large amount of cross-over for the content of that page to be added to this one, but I'm so far from being an expert that I'm not sure at all. "The average of the heights of all members of the population is not a statistic unless that has somehow also been ascertained (such as by measuring every member of the population)." Doesn't this contradict the definition of a statistic? If you measure the height of each population member, then by definition, isn't the mean a *parameter* as opposed to a statistic (which presumably applies only to a sample)?
