I created this article starting from this German wikipedia article and expanding using the references shown. Afterwards I found a reserve-source here which looks like a summary from Lehmann's book:
It supports the text currently cited by either Lehmann or Varese2002. There is evidently quite a lot more information on these devices out there, so it would be interesting to see this expand. I will self-assess it as Start (or strong stub if you like):
