The article that I chose to edit for my WISER Report was the Sports Industry. When I came across the article in Wikipedia, I noticed that it was very brief, and it only had three sources. It lacks credibility and support. There is a need for more credible sources and other information regarding the topic. Since the sports industry has such an impact in today’s economy I believe we can add more description to the article.
In the original definition it stated that the Sports Industry “is the manufacturing of sport related goods, services, and ideas through the combination of sport activities with business, mass media, and politics.” My revisions would change this definition to say the Sports Industry is a market in which people, activities, business, and organizations involved in producing, facilitating, promoting, or organizing any activity, experience, or business enterprise focused on sports. It is the market in which the businesses are products offered to its buyers are sports related and may be goods, services, people, places, or ideas.
