I think this article should be merged to its section in semen analysis. That section is already more detailed than this whole article. Better read this in its context, e.g. with sperm volume or density, since they all contribute to the quality. This deserves inclusion ( talk) 19:16, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
It would be nice to add here a section discussing Shettles theory of Y sperm swimming faster than X, and make it clear that this theory dating from 1960 could not be confirmed, and in fact is wrong. Many people and websites still propagate this as a fact, and it would be useful to have a section about it here. See for example this paper: Entrenched misinformation about X and Y sperm, Valerie J Grant, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1440662/
