What does "mild" mean?

This sentence troubles me:

"Southern Hemisphere climates tend to be slightly milder than those at similar latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere, except in the Antarctic which is colder than the Arctic."

I think "mild" must mean "less extreme" (without implications of hot or cold) but then why add that the Antarctic is colder? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.22.7 ( talk) 12:43, 17 April 2017 (UTC) reply

Relevance of Zealandia

Is it really relevant to add Zealandia? JamesSolterre ( talk) 19:48, 24 March 2024 (UTC) reply
