I've edited this to the more specific Basket-hilted claymore which is the standard Royal Regiment of Scotland sword and used in Highland dancing. Whatever this unit's history and actions, the name change is the erasure of a minority culture in South Africa. Even its motto is in a language only spoken by a few tens of thousands.
I realise SA wants to get away from apartheid and white rule, but Scots are still an ethnic minority even within the UK.
