this is wierd and cool, in the sand hills, farmers have to be careful to not let cows graze too much or else the sand will be everywhere without anything to stop it.The sod house frontier was a big controversial aspect of life during the 1800's.Some people even built sod mansions and sod shacks. I have never seen any one so desperate to build a house like the sod houses and mansions and the person who built them was have been very cool and desperate and funny and dumb and stupid and laughable to build these houses!!!!!!!!— Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.107.121.98 ( talk) 04:55, 9 February 2007
Something is messed up with the format of this page... i don't know how to fix it though, so if some one would that'd be great. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.99.11.121 ( talk) 19:25, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
The nickname for a sod house, 'soddy', should not automatically redirect to the Chemist. Does anybody know how to fix this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.209.98.48 ( talk) 21:53, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Seems like this should mention Laura Ingalls Wilder's sod house On the Banks of Plum Creek, but I'm not sure how to work it in to the list, especially since it's collapsed into a depression in the bank. -- SarekOfVulcan ( talk) 19:29, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Not sure if the folk song by
Bruce Phillips
"Little Dug out Soddy on the Plains" counts.
