The age of 200±150 CE transpires to be based on 1981 work and is uncalibrated by the original authors so should be replaced by a calibrated date. Sn-1 has become since 2002 a reference tephra strata at 1775±45 cal BP as widely distributed over Iceland and offshore, being fairly distinctive as alkalotic rhyolitic. Another independent Sn-1 strata value published since 2002 is 1820±90 cal BP (Harning, D.J.; Thordarson, T.; Geirsdóttir, Á.; Zalzal, K.; Miller, G.H. (2018). "Provenance, stratigraphy and chronology of Holocene tephra from Vestfirðir, Iceland". Quaternary Geochronology. 46: 59–76.
