i wanted to know what percentage of the population of China smokes. who the heck cares what the prevalence is among Chinese physicians? what about other specific categories of Chinese professions like taxi cab drivers and IT techs? why are doctors worth mentioning in Wikipedia and why not tell us how common smoking is among all Chinese? 02:03, 15 June 2013 (UTC) Michael Christian — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.229.11.14 ( talk)

The SCOPE of this article is smoking in China, not smoking as a health crisis in China. There should be coverage of tobacco cultivation and the tobacco industry in China here as well, at minimum involving gloss paragraphs and links to new articles on those topics. — LlywelynII 14:21, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
