Newbury by-election, 1993 claims there was "a Conservative member standing as a Labour Candidate in the 1992 general election in Slough." This may be worth including if anyone can find a source.
I see that this article has got caught up in debate about new town articles. Could I just counsel a little caution? While Slough is quite a new town - it was scarcely there before the railway, and not significant before the post first world war developments - it was never a New Town with a Development Corporation. So while comparisons with Harlow/Stevenage/MK/Skem/Cumbernauld etc have some validity, they shouldn't be pushed too far. Grblundell ( talk) 00:06, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
