All Hope is Gone came out on August 26 not August 20 -- [[Special:Contributions/169.204.74.20|169.204.74.20 ( talk) 18:50, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
Somebody has vandalised the introduction section. I can't change it but somebody should. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aongalmighty ( talk • contribs)
Some people have argued that Slipknot aren't a Rapcore group which is pretty correct, but thats in the present day. If you look back to their first album to songs such as 'Spit It Out,' that seems pretty rapcore to me. As well as other songs on the album, and parts of others, such as Liberate. Because of this, any chance of putting a Genre on the page as 'Rapcore (Early)' ? Coldthrift ( talk) 21:58, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Slipknot is not ALTERNATIVE METAL, they are just Heavy Metal. Alternative metal is just a term you wikipedians made up. 98.150.32.150 ( talk) 08:00, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
the metal band slipknot are not to be confused with the first band to use the name-slipknot formed in new haven connecticut in 1980 the following info is known but comes from encyclopaedia metallum http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=102128 Slipknot Genre(s) Crossover Lyrical theme(s) Politics, anger Origin Formed in Last label Status United States of America (New Haven, Connecticut) 1980 Revelation Records Split-up Last known line-up Stiemy - Vocals, Bass (Fatal Vision, Malachi Krunch) F - Guitar (Malachi Krunch) Chang - Drums Additional notes Not to be confused with the popular mainstream nu-metal band Slipknot from Des Moines, Iowa.
Slipknot were from New Haven, Connecticut. Stiemy (bass/vocals) was previously the singer in FATAL VISION who appeared on the "Connecticut Fun" compilation LP (INCAS,1985). New Haven at the time was the base of operation for Revelation Records. Chang (drums) stopped playing music after Slipknot. In Chang's younger years he torched part of Yale University. "F" (guitar) went on to play drums in another New Haven hardcore outfit, with Stiemy of Slipknot, called Malachi Krunch. Stiemy later took up art and a career as a chef.
Another track named "Some Friend" was recorded during the sessions for their s/t EP, but did not make it to the final product. The track was eventually released on Revelation Records' 15th anniversary compilation "Revelation 100". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.4.175.30 ( talk) 15:34, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

"Death metal, black metal and heavy metal have been mentioned as a key influence on the band's musical direction"
What about sources? Without sources this sentence is meaningless. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.217.75.209 ( talk) 10:16, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
As it says in "Influence and style," Slipknot is generally regarded as nu metal, and states Slipknot are considered pioneers to nu metal. Yet the line-up in the infobox is " Alternative metal, heavy metal, nu metal." I'm sure this has already been discussed somewhere, but it still doesn't make sense. And also, there albums all contain nu metal, but most don't contain Alternative metal. And furthermore, it even says in the intrduction "Slipknot is a heavy metal band..." Is Slipknot really considered a pioneer of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal? According to the page on the NWOAHM, it occurred in response to nu-metal, which Slipknot is certainly the progenitor of. Cappen Varra ( talk) 02:38, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I notice that when I request to see the wikiprojects from the table above, it just gives me the info about the first wikiproject. I tried figuring it out to show all for of them while maintaining it in the fashion that it is (closed and open upon request). I didn't figure it out, so would it be okay if somebody fixed that or is it fine like it is? I'm doubting the latter option, but if it is so, then okay. Backtable Speak to me concerning my deeds. 20:47, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Both the World Domination and Kill the Industry tours were headlined by Slipknot, so should not be in the supporting tours section. In fact, Kill the Industry should not even be there as it was part of the Iowa World Tour. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.44.211.152 ( talk) 10:23, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
You should change it to Nu metal/Alternative Metal/Post Thrash/Groove Metal
<Reply> They have abandonded Nu Metal, sure they have heavily incorporated Alternative metal and some songs have elements of Groove metal but overall they cannot be described as a groove metal band to co-incide with Lamb of God. They are also not Post-Thrash, I believe that's the umbrella term for Groove metal. Heavy metal is what AHIS was on the larger scale. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.22.137.18 ( talk) 15:49, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

The page should be completely slightly altered, since I still see parts of the page that need to be edited due to the death of bassist Paul Gray but have not been yet.

The section Death of Paul Gray should be changed. Where it states "On May 28 it was confirmed that his death was caused by a drug overdose.[90]" is incorrect. The reference only speculates that Paul Gray's death was a drug overdose based on a 911 call and his history of drug abuse. Police have not confirmed this and a toxicology report has not yet been released. So this has NOT in fact been "confirmed".

Sorry to disturb your page but shouldn't have Death Metal as a genre from The Subliminal Versus. And Shouldn't it say Rap Metal from Spit it Out and should the a in Alturnitive Metal be capitilized and the n in Nu Metal also, you should fix that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.67.122.5 ( talk) 18:00, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
It said Groove metal before but someone deleted it. Maybe we should also list them as Industrial death metal because of the Sampling/keyboards ( 66.159.119.243 ( talk) 03:04, 7 November 2011 (UTC))
