I'd really like to know why the access is so restricted to Slabsides. If we have any info why its so controlled, we should certainly include it.

Well, I will find out when I visit in October, but I suspect the small organization that runs it couldn't handle the costs of keeping it open year-round. I mean, there's really not much to the house, but it is preserved pretty much as it was when Burroughs lived there. I suspect they decided that the less visitors, the better.
