Hello,
Are you really sure that Yaakov Shwekey was a member of the Miami Boys Choir when he was a boy???? i'm asking that because I have absolutely all the albums of MBC that were ever produced and I cannot found the name "Yaakov Shwekey" anywhere on the albums, except on the album "Miami 25", but at that time he was already a grown-up!!!
So, if Yaakov Shwekey was really a child-member of the choir, it was under another name?

Supposedly the actual surname is "Choueka" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.98.212.157 ( talk) 20:27, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
thank you, i looked again but I couldn't find any boy with the name "Choueka".
I've found some assertions on the web, that he was in the MBC for only few months :
... Yaakov Shwekey but I think he was in it for a few months at the most ...
Yaakov Shwekey began his career singing for a very short time in Miami Boys Choir

Don't you get it? if he is an ALUMNI than he'd have to have been in the choir as a boy!! 68.196.178.227 ( talk) 22:52, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
I feel that the links to Mostly Music for each album are not needed and seem to be an advertising move. Is there a general policy on external links to retail sites? If no one objects I will be removing them in a week or two. Joe407 ( talk) 13:39, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Actually I think it was put there so that people can sample the songs, not as a ad. please do NOT remove it. 68.196.178.227 ( talk) 02:00, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
After looking at the guidelines, WP:ELNO, I think that these links should be removed under sections 4 & 5. WP:LINKSPAM prohibits leading readers to a specific commercial site. Thoughts?? We could ask for arbitration if you'd like. Joe407 ( talk) 21:57, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
The guidelines prohibit PROMOTING a site, NOT providing the source where one can sample the songs (and mostly music.com, happens to be the only jewish music site with song samples for all these albums, although Jewish jukebox and Eichler's do have some of them). 68.196.178.227 ( talk) 02:38, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Maybe just one link to Mostly Music under Ext. links titled specifically to hear music clips. Having each mentioned of each album linked seems a bit like an ad move by MM for my taste. But I do see your point. I'm unsure. I'm going to post this to a few places for comments. Joe407 ( talk) 05:18, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
As per the WP:3O, I've gone through and removed the external links. There are also a few minor edits. Thank you to all the 3O people and commentors here. Joe407 ( talk) 05:11, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
The hebrew wiki says 1975. This one says 1977. Joe407 ( talk) 05:26, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
It was 1977 confirmed by Shwekey himself (see interview with Israeli news on caeseria DVD). Motty613 ( talk) 01:12, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
In this edit a web address that I couldn't previously access was corrected, and now that I can see it I'm not sure it's suitable. My knowledge of Hebrew is zero, so I have to rely on a Google translation but the main page does not suggest this source is suitable. It has previously been queried whether Shwekey sung as a boy with the Miami Boys Choir (see above) and this potential self- or user-authored page doesn't seem suitable. Can someone tell me a bit more about goop.il? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigger digger ( talk • contribs) 13:19, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
while i don't know much about the specific site (Shwekey.goop.il, which i've always been able to access, and i don't know why you had to change it) its probably amutuer created, since goop.il is meant for free website building, but i don't see why you don't find the site suitable, Shwekey definately sang with Miami being as was a guest alumni on the 25th miami experiance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Motty613 ( talk • contribs) 01:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm not sure this should be here.
Update: After reading the linked articles, I found the only one about Shwekey was the New york post. For now I'm removing the others and will wait to hear what people say about the NYP article. Joe407 ( talk) 12:54, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
After a month or two, all mention of Tuvia Stern and his affair are gone from the news. As Mr. Stern and his event have been deemed not-notable by the community (a passing one-hit news item), should this section be in the article about Yaakov Shwekey? Joe407 ( talk) 07:50, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
