I set off a new "Recent Events" section in the article to divide out new material from the history section. The recent events, like any other material in wikipedia articles, should be verifiable information, with sources such as newspaper articles. Most of the material written could possibly be true, but it needs verifying/sources, or it is subject to being deleted. doncram ( talk) 03:58, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I actually did this two years ago, and it was split back off with no comment as to why that was needed or desirable. [1] Seems like a no-brainer to me. The museum and the college are obviously closely related topics, the college article is not overly long, and since the college is now defunct that article isn't going to expand in the future to the point where we would need to split this back off.
