I have to admit that I am less than satisfied with the amorphous mention that she grew up in "mostly in South America" we currently have in the article. Here is the Wolrd Cat listing https://www.worldcat.org/title/sharlene-wells-miss-america/oclc/12614769&referer=brief_results for the biography of Wells written in 1985 by Sheri L. Dew. I am 88 miles from Bowling Green State University the closest place that has the bio, so I am hoping someone else will hunt down the bio and extract useful information.
