Possible removal from list

Entries in List of colors: G–M contained links to this page.

The entries are :

  • Light grayish magenta
  • Magenta-pink

I don't see any evidence that these colors are discussed in this article and plan to delete them from the list per this discussion: Talk:List_of_colors#New_approach_to_review_of_entries

If someone decides that these colors should have a section in this article and it is added, I would appreciate a ping.-- S Philbrick (Talk) 16:01, 24 August 2018 (UTC) reply

Removal of Hot Magenta and other Crayola colors?

I don't get why user:Reconrabbit decided to remove a bunch of Crayola colors from the list. Surely, if they're notable enough to be covered elsewhere in Wikipedia, they're notable enough to be covered here (potentially with a link to List of Crayola crayon colors for more Crayola-specific information?)

This shouldn't be a case of WP:DUE, given that they *are* in fact shades of Magenta. 𝔏𝔲𝔫𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔫🌙🌙🌙 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔐𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔬𝔫𝔦𝔢𝔰𝔱 ( talk) 08:49, 23 June 2024 (UTC) reply

I brought this up at WP:WPCOL and did not get a wide response. If it's useful to have the Crayola colors in this list, which as far as I can tell are only notable by virtue of being Crayola colors, then please revert my changes as I am not intimately familiar with how we came to this point. My position is that these lists are hard to navigate because of their length (barring List of Crayola crayon colors, which is formatted in a much more readable fashion but can provide little information on any individual color), and removing those entries that are notable only due to their provenance (such as Volt, which was a color Nike used for a while). Tbh, if the lists are hard to navigate due to length, then perhaps a better solution would be to change the format by which the list is presented, rather than trim information-- perhaps List of Crayola crayon colors would be a good model to base a reformatted list on? The issue lies in the use of Template:Infobox color, then. It would be great if we could find a better way to present this information. Recon rabbit 14:01, 24 June 2024 (UTC) reply
