Thanks to all who put this article together -- I'm at Part 3 ("5,000 years later"), wondering if any of the trogs made it through the "Hard Rain" (aka Hadean reprise). Probably not. Nor have I sorted through how "plausible" the premise is -- after, that is, the mysterious Agent that blows up our moon.... Rather a drastic bottleneck at the SevenEves stage! it may add nothing, but at least it isn't bitter, snide & wiki-nazi in tone. far too often the talk page is policed by people who clearly have nothing better to do than repeatedly point out the rules. you've added nothing either. wind your neck in.

"Amalthea" in the novel is not 113 Amalthea, which is much larger. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cagliost ( talk • contribs)
Any interest (or value) in developing a section where parallels with reality are detailed? Like the fact that "Greg's Skeleton" is a real comet, that there are tech billionaires who are investing in spaceflight and other research projects, etc.?
I personally find it interesting, and wonder if it's worth mentioning in the article, that while within the book Stephenson repeatedly derides religion of all forms, there are numerous religious themes and references, mostly but not exclusively biblical, such as the clear reference to Eve or 5,000 years being on the same order of magnitude as has elapsed between Adam and Eve until our current time, according to the biblical account and best estimates of the time periods it covers. 64.55.128.122 ( talk) 18:01, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
> Unconcerned in the actual success of the project, he is later killed by a micrometeorite
Is this true? I don't have the text in front of me, but i thought it looked like a micrometeorite but it was actually Julia killing him with his own gun. Julia goes flying backwards (recoil) at the same time the strike happens and then they mention the "missing gun". 173.63.99.32 ( talk) 18:31, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
