Distance accuracy

How accurate are the distances quoted in this article? Is 39.75 miles accurate to 0.01 miles (in which case the conversion to 63.97 km is justified) or is it really accurate only to ¼ mile (in which case it is not)? Ditto for the other mileages. -- Dr Greg ( talk) 20:48, 7 April 2009 (UTC) reply

As well as undue accuracy, the mileages do need checking. For example, Settle Junction is further from Settle than a milestone that says Settle 2, Skipton 14 (according to the first edition 1:2500 map). Maybe someone with local knowledge will join the discussion. -- Northernhenge ( talk) 13:43, 8 April 2009 (UTC) reply
