- I created this article because I was vaguely aware of these things, but when I dug into it I saw there were lots of sources to create a worthwhile article. Apparently there was an article deleted back in 2006 that focused only on Taylor County, Georgia, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Whites only prom. There, the closer noted that "If a new article is to be created here I recommend that it be about segregated proms in general, and not just about what happened in a particular county," which is what I attempted to do.-- Milowent ( talk) 04:33, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- what the article doesnt answer is why this occurs, Im not american, or racist so its still an utter mystery to me after reading the article. 219.89.175.209 ( talk) 16:01, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I suppose the article could be expanded, but its due to racism, as well as a vestige of slavery.-- Milowent • has spoken 13:58, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
