Misleading

This article is misleading as a second formal impeachment inquiry has yet to be announced. This process is being conflated with the introduction of Articles of Impeachment which any member of the United States House of Representatives can do but until Nancy Pelosi agrees to proceed with the an impeachment inquiry no such inquiry exists. This article sums up the process very well and it is clear we are not at the stage where there is a impeachment inquiry so this article serves no purpose. This article should be merged with Efforts to impeach Donald Trump. Jay Jay What did I do? 23:50, 7 January 2021 (UTC) reply

JayJay, in the instance the formal impeachment inquiry is proposed by Pelosi, would it be appropriate to reopen this article with the same title and general content as is currently contained? Should we wait until tomorrow to see if a major development occurs first? Nirvanaoreilly ( talk) 23:55, 7 January 2021 (UTC) reply

Should the article’s title be changed for now for accuracy? Nirvanaoreilly ( talk) 00:01, 8 January 2021 (UTC) reply

JayJay, I apologize that I keep going back to this, but I just read that House Democrats may offer Articles of Impeachment through a privileged resolution, but not in a formal inquiry as we’ve discussed. If that was to occur, how would we document this? Nirvanaoreilly ( talk) 00:11, 8 January 2021 (UTC) reply

That is how the process works and happened in 2017 actually (see Efforts to impeach Donald Trump#December 2017 and January 2018 House votes) so that's why I suggest merging this page to there. There is already a January 2021 section that could easily be expanded. Jay Jay What did I do? 00:17, 8 January 2021 (UTC) reply

Got it. Thank you for your guidance on this! Nirvanaoreilly ( talk) 00:19, 8 January 2021 (UTC) reply
