Way too much detail for an encyclopedia article. Needs to be slimmed down and merged. Most of it is of questionable importance. See
WP:NOT. Wikipedia is not a list or catalogue of everything.

If you are willing, I would support the expansion of this article into a larger Circle 10 article, as there is ample information on the state page to be folded in. Otherwise, there is an existing policy on sub-council entities.

Seems a fair compromise - if every organisation in Texas had this much information, that would make for a long article on Scouting in Texas...

Separate Articles Needed for Boy and Girl Scouting
This article needs to be split into two separate articles -- one for Boy Scouting and one for Girl Scouting. These are two entirely different and separate organizations with different and separate histories, organizational structures, leadership, and geographic divisions.

Once any section expands to the point of a new article, then it will will be forked, as has been done with other by state articles. Right now, this article is not much more than a list of councils and districts. --

my edit. If necessary, add {{

I find no reference that W.H. Butler started a Troop 114 in Floresville, TX or that this boy scout troop began in February 1910. The January 14, 1911 issue (114?) of the San Antonio Daily Express says that W.H. Butler started a boy scout troop in Floresville in January 1911, and that they had ordered uniforms. W.H. Butler had been Superintendent of Martinsville, TX schools but resigned in May 1910 to accept a job as principal of the high school in Floresville.

Ft. Worth Star-Telegram (December 26, 1910) reports that a Boy Scout troop has organized in Floresville. The San Antonio Daily Express (Jan. 14, 1911) says the Floresville scoutmaster was Prof. W.H. Butler and that the troop has ordered uniforms. The Floresville scout troop began in December 1910.
Two newspaper articles say that this Floresville troop was the second organized in Texas (Weekly Advocate, Sept. 30, 1911. Victoria, Texas and Matagorda County Tribune, Oct. 19, 1917). Floresville could not be the second because both the Huntsville and Granbury troops organized in 1909 (Houston Chronicle Jun10, 1934 and Hood County News-Tablet Sept. 20, 1962), Houston YMCA troop organized in spring 1910, Ft. Worth YMCA troop in July 1910 (Ft.Worth Star-Telegram July8, 1910), El Paso YMCA troop in Aug. 1910 (Aug27 1910, El Paso Herald), Dallas and San Antonio YMCA troops in Oct. 1910 (West Texas Scouting History & San Antonio Daily Express Oct 4, 1910), and the Comanche, TX troop began may have begun in November as they were active in December 1910 (The Clifton Record Dec16 1910). The Floresville scout troop could be the 8th or 9th scout troop in Texas.
