One of the Councils, and I think it was the former DAC (DuPage Area Council), owned and operated a scout camp near
Plano, Illinois, which has since been sold off. And the Central Region office is on Diehl Road in
Naperville, Illinois - I drive by it on occasion. The DAC used to be headquartered in Wheaton, at the Deicke center, pre-merger, and a Scout Store/Three Fires Council office exists on Roosevelt Road (IL State Route 38) in
West Chicago, Illinois. (signed

strongly oppose the article is a stub because I don't have time right now to expand on it (note that I did not create it, just add to it). The "Scouting in Illinois " article is already lengthy, and the camp is notable to the central Illinois area, (as shown by the recent addition to the article about the camp in local press coverage). Additionally, it is one of the few camps owned by a Scout Council that has been operating for 75 continuous years. Just because the article is currently a stub is no reason to remove the article.

comment local notability is not necessarily enough to warrant an independent article - each campsite is notable in its own area or region. Also, just because the
Scouting in Illinois is "lengthy" does not mean it should not be expanded even more - if there are a lot of campsites in Illinois, then maybe we should have a new article named "Scout Campsites in Illinois", but unless a very substantial amount of information is added to the
Camp Robert Drake article in due time, the project will merge the articles as per the project guidelines --

oppose the camp does have minor notability, and has room to grow. I'm biased because it's my local camp, but I do not see it as appropriate to merge it when other camps, such as
Camp Coker or
D-Bar-A_Scout_Ranch, are not being recommended to merge when several other camps are. A Scout Camp is vastly different than an independant troop campsite, and each one has a significant amount of history. It could be argued that articles on topics such as
Mic-o-Say should be merged/deleted due to their only regional/local notability. This article should be kept, but tagged to be improved.

comment the
Camp Coker article is a well developed article... however, I would support a merge of the
D-Bar-A_Scout_Ranch, as there is no history of the site at all, and it is simply a list of facilities... the
Camp Robert Drake has minimal history in the article at this time. However, if the information grew sufficiently as a section in the Illinois article, then there may be a call to recreate the article again. --

Is it necessary for Bass Lake to be mentioned here? It seems pretty odd that it takes up a whole paragraph and the Chicago Area Council section mentions nothing else about the council itself.
