What exactly is this woman famous for? Cheating on her husband? Colluding with a dubious charlatan named John Bennett? Having sex with several men? What exactly makes her famous - that she was born and decades later died? Did she write anything, lead any groups, invent something? Why does anyone believe she warrants her own page and that she passes the notability test? This is but a page used to conveniently use POV slander against Joseph Smith, Jr. - nothing more A Sniper ( talk) 19:47, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh, really? I just added a relevant quote from her criticism of plural marriage that appears in Eskridge (2002), Harvard University Press. A simple Google search yields dozens more. Where's your reliable sources to back up your claims? Please bear in mind ≈ jossi ≈'s comment to you that, "primary sources, if used at all, need to be used very cautiously: Wikipedia is not a publisher of original research. Better, make use of reputable published secondary sources instead." Écrasez l'infâme ( talk) 20:50, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Please see User talk:Écrasez l'infâme#"Declared to be" a plural wife for a discussion regarding the characterization of Sarah Pratt as a plural wife of Joseph Smith. I offered to implement the changes I feel are needed to balance the article, and Écrasez can then revert or tweak, to identify those areas of remaining disagreement. I have made some changes so far to the article lede and infobox, and plan to make more changes in a matter of hours to the article body. alanyst / talk/ 22:31, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
