Well the original Irish name certainly wasn't Áth an Ghainimh - there is no river to ford! But seriously, going back thirty or forty years there was an argument locally and the translation from the English name was put in place instead of the original Irish name. Where did Hal Roach live?
Seems like Hal Roach is also claimed by Stepaside - did he live in both places? Seanpor ( talk) 18:16, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
- Interesting question - I don't know his exact address but a new housing development near Aiken's Village (Sandyford) claims, or its Estate Agents do, that it is in Stepaside - even though it is surrounded by older developments with a Sandyford address!
- I guess Estate Agents don't think housing with the same address as an "Industrial Estate" is a great selling point! Sarah777 ( talk) 22:16, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
