The contents of the San Gabriel Timberland Reserve page were merged into San Gabriel National Forest on 17 October 2022 and it now redirects there. For the contribution history and old versions of the merged article please see its history.

I have completely rewritten this article. Now it has some meat in it!
It stills needs a section on the reason the townsfolk wanted the reserve and the conflict between them and the grazing/timber cutting in the hills that caused floods, erosion, fires etc. I only have the one book for a source and it is bad ethics to only have a single source for information, so anyone, please contribute.
