Since the template has been re-added, I suggest we discuss whether it should stay. I say having a town commemorate something you did 300 years after the fact signifies inherent notability. Cheers! bd2412 T 23:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Should this be morphed into a more general article on the ancestry of Abraham Lincoln? bd2412 T 18:05, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
The piece mentions Martha Lyford as the wife of Samuel Lincoln. Some speculate that she was the daughter of Rev. John Lyford. In older source material though, it's stated that the surname of Samuel's wife is unknown. [1] Does anyone know if there's any recent research to prove or disprove whether Samuel's wife's name was indeed Lyford, and whether she was the daughter of Rev. John Lyford? (There is one interesting tie between Lyford and Hingham, which might indicate the possibility. After Rev. Lyford's death, his widow Sarah Lyford married Edmund Hobart of Hingham, father of Rev. Peter Hobart, the first pastor of Old Ship Church.) MarmadukePercy ( talk) 19:10, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
