I have found the following link, the web site hasn't been updated recently, but the basic info is still the same. I am visiting the museum next week end, and will try to get the curator to write something for this site.

What’s this all about? The section “Sammy Marks tickey” contains the strange sentence “He was awarded the Jewish Cross for his services to his race and was subsequently beaten to death.”
