WP:INDIA Banner/Delhi Addition

Possible alternative etymology

This etymology appears to be unverified, particularly as the name relates to this specific location. Has anyone looked into when and how the area was named?

"Saaket" also means quiet or silent in Farsi and it seems prima facie plausible that this could also be the source of this area's name, particularly as these are attributes that the area might have been known for at earlier stages in Delhi's history, when it would have been an outlying area. Is anyone of a mind to look into this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.176.217.15 ( talk) 06:19, 3 July 2012 (UTC) reply
