Notable?

If notable, I'm more than happy for Sahatu Ayagi to stay. But reading through it, I'm not so sure. Thoughts?-- Epeefleche ( talk) 02:28, 16 April 2010 (UTC) reply

Sorry it took so long to respond. A Google search of the full name of the school yields no significant results which would obviously indicate a lack of notability. Not too long ago I prod's a school's page for deletion which was then declined by an admin whose rationale was no school should be deleted. If we accept this as policy—which is perhaps debatable at best—then the academic nature of this school would need to be discussed as it does not seem to be a full-time school but the rough equivalent of a weekend school or after-school program.-- Supertouch ( talk) 19:04, 19 April 2010 (UTC) reply
Actually what that admin said was the high schools are never CSD'd. Perhaps the article could be prod's to generate more discussion.-- Supertouch ( talk) 19:07, 19 April 2010 (UTC) reply
I was asked to comment. It's a secondary school. if its existence can be demonstrated, then it would normally be considered notable. I have no particular knowledge or experience with schools of this type, and I am judging thatat least part of it is a secondary school (College of Qur'anic Studies Ayagi, Kano Nigeria) by the nature of the program which apparently prepares for higher education, including universities. It seems to be more than a religious after-school program, given the hours of operation and the curriculum which includes more than religious studies. There needs however to be some proof of existence, but this can be done by print references as well a online. If it is named as one of the best schools in Kano, thee should be some published evidence of it. This needs to be cited exactly. Nigeria is by no means a country without newspapers and other media, so something should be found by those with access to material. Obviously whether or not it can e googled is irrelevant. I suggest however trying to find it on a map. We've used that sort of evidence for schools in some part of Asia. DGG ( talk ) 23:29, 19 April 2010 (UTC) reply
N.B. -- I was the one who asked DGG to comment here if he had a moment, as I know he has spent a great deal of time at the AfDs of educational institutions. DGG--tx for the input. Best.-- Epeefleche ( talk) 00:45, 20 April 2010 (UTC) reply
