The situation is somewhat confused because the Germans didn't use that terminology - they only had grosse and klein cruisers. Conway's and Groener both call her a light cruiser. If anything, she would probably be best described as a light (or 2nd class) protected cruiser. Since neither of those are things, it's probably best to stick to "light cruiser".
Make sure to use a colon for all your times.
